Dr. SHAUKAT FAROOQDr. Shaukat Farooq – has more than 30 year experience of working in the environment sector. Dr. Farooq worked as a Senior Environmental Expert with Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), Doha, Qatar, conducted various studies focused on Environmental and Waste Management engineering in accordance with GOIC format and procedures for six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries comprising of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. He also worked as Environmental Advisor/ Project Manager with Corporate Environmental & Industrial Hygiene Office, SABIC Research and Technology, Saudi Arabia. provided consulting services as an Environmental Advisor to SABIC, the largest petrochemical complex in the Middle East with 16 affiliate plants comprising of six Strategic Business Units (SBU) . He is currently Environmental Advisor to NESPAK Engineering Consultant, Doha, Qatar, as an provided support on environmental related projects dealing with solid waste and hazardous waste management, and design of water and wastewater treatment plants in both domestic and industrial sectors. He is President of Pasco Ventures LLC, USA,. He acts as an advisor and Environmental expert to CAMI on CDM related projects. Dr. Shaukat Farooq has a Phd in Environmental Engineering from University of Illinois, Urbana, Illinois, USA, M.S. in Sanitary Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, and Bachelors in Civil Engineering from NED Engineering College, Univ. of Karachi, Pakistan. Dr. ADIL NAJAMAdil Najam is currently the Director of the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future and Professor of International Relations and of Geography & Environment, both at Boston University. Prof. Najam holds two Masters Degrees and a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His teaching and research focusses on international relations, environment and development policy, negotiation and conflict resolution, and on South Asian issues. Adil Najam was an Assistant Professor of International Relations at Boston University (1997-2002), an Associate Professor of International Negotiation and Diplomacy at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University (2002-2007), and returned to Boston University as a Professor of Global Public Policy, of International Relations and of Geography and Environment in 2007. Prof. Najam was one of the Lead Authors of the Third and Fourth Assessment Reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), works for which the IPCC shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore. Prof. Adil Najam won the Fletcher School Paddock Teaching Award (2004), MIT's Goodwin Medal for Effective Teaching (1997), the International Political Science Association's Stien Rokan Award (1997), he is also journalist who has emerged as a rising star in the international environmental movement according to The Boston Globe. Dr. Najam provides expert opinion on Climate Change, UNFCCC and CDM related business. He is an advisor and CDM policy expert to CAMI. OMAR SAEED MALIKMr. Omar Malik has eighteen years experience in investment banking and corporate finance. His forte is transaction management and project development. Before Co-founding Carbon Asset Management International (CAMI)in 2007, He has served in World Call Telecom Group as Group Treasurer and CFO. He had worked as Vice President of Saudi Pak Investment Company Limited from 2000 to 2005. He was appointed as Technical Consultant and Advisor to the Privatisation Commission of the Government of Pakistan from 1996 to 1999. During that period, he had also been a member of Ministerial Working Group on Energy and Infrastructure in the Ministry of Planning in 1998. He served as a short term consultant to World Bank’s mission on Afghanistan’s National Emergency Employment Program(NEEP)in 2003 and 2004. Currently, he is Financial Advisor to the Board of Directors of Associated Technologies and EasePak Consulting Limited, Lahore, Pakistan. He is also assisting the Prime Minister’s Working Group on Climate Change to author a policy for enhancing and encouraging the CDM in Pakistan. As Director and CEO of CAMI, his primary focus of the company is to tap the potential of 7 billion Euro market in carbon emission reductions by being one of the top carbon consulting and CDM project development company in Pakistan as well as the middle-east region. Mr. Omar Malik is an MBA from University of Illinois at Urbana –Champaign, Illinois, USA in 1994. HAFIZ ABDUL RAUFHAFIZ ABDUL RAUF is a Water Resources and Hydropower Planning Engineer having more than 25 years of professional experience. He got master degree from United States in 1990 and also attended many training and short courses to enhance his capability in computer modelling. During his professional carrier in WAPDA and as consultants worked on number of irrigation, water resource and hydropower development projects, he has worked as simulation/modelling expert and performed conjunctive reservoir operation of Basha Dimmer Dam, Tarbela dam and Kalabagh dam with the help of computer model “ROCKAT”. His other major work with respect to engineering of dams and related facets is with Basha Diamer Dam project on IBMR (Indus Basin Revised Model) developed by World Bank in 1988. DHV (the Netherlands) and Delft Hydraulics as Hydrological Modeller, Feasibility Studies of Kurram Tangi Dam, Gomal Zam, Nalter-lll, Nalter-V, Jinnah and Darmodar Hydropower project, Dam Projects, hydrology of Munda Dam Project with JICA. He has got a vast experience related to environment like “Study of Environmental Concerns of all the four provinces”, Team Leader on Additional Studies of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of Kachi Canal Project, “Study on Water Escapages Downstream of Kotri Barrage to Address Environmental Concerns and many other similar projects. At CAMI his major role is analysing the CDM projects especially Hydro CDM projects, his valuable knowledge and indepth study of the hyrdo projects are a major asset in carrying out our Renewable energy related and other CDM projects.
